One held for selling gutkha

Nellore: The Police conducted raids on premises which were manufacturing and selling the prohibited gutkha at the BC colony in Vinjamuru mandal in the district on Monday and arrested a person, named Srinivasulu. They also seized gutkha worth Rs 1.75 lakh, some spurious gutkha packets and also gutkha preparing machines. Speaking to the media here, Kaligiri Circle Inspector of Police Sambasiva Rao said the gutkha had become big business in the town and some of local people lodged a complaint with the police. He said large sums of money were being invested in the illegal trade and gutkha was ruining the health of the people, especially the youth.
