Hyderabad: In a burgling spree, a gang of burglars struck at a house in Bandlaguda under Rajendranagar police limits and decamped with 40 tolas of gold, 25 tolas of silver, a laptop besides Rs 15,000, police said on Friday. The gang gained entry in to the house by breaking open the main door lock on the ground floor of the building, located in Venkateshwara Colony, and made off with valuables, cops said.

The incident came to light on Friday morning when the owner, Sambaiah, an employee of Telecom Department, and his family found the main door lock broken and the valuables missing. “They went to Warangal to attend a marriage function,” the cops added. Based on the complaint lodged by Sambaiah, a case was registered under Section 457/380 (Burglary) of the IPC.
