Can Jagan be far behind Ramalinga Raju ? the Enforcement Directorate (ED) which is investigating the disproportionate assets case of Jagan Mohan Reddy has filed its second charge sheet against him under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

The hot topic in political circles now is after Ramalinga Raju, Can Jagan going to jail be far behind?

On Monday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) which is investigating the disproportionate assets case of Jagan Mohan Reddy has filed its second charge sheet against him under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

As per the case, Jagan influenced his Chief Minister father YS Rajasekhara Reddy and collected money in an unlawful manner for his business activities. ED, now identified the proceeds of crime and accordingly attached most of them to the tune of nearly Rs 1400 crore.

The second charge sheet has been filed against Jagan Mohan Reddy, Jagati Publications and its Auditor Vijay Sai Reddy. The Metropolitan Sessions Court and Special Court of ED has issued summons to them to attend the Court personally on May 2nd. The ED recently filed their first charge sheet against Jagan and attached Rs 132 crore properties of Indu Syamprasad Reddy.

Earlier, Jagan was arrested by the CBI in May 2012 and he remained in jail until September 2013. It has also filed 11 charge sheets and Jagan has also been booked under various IPC sections 120 B, 409 and 420 same as Ramalinga Raju. Now, as the case has been going strong against him, there is a buzz in the political circles that Jagan may be held in custody again as the trial has begun and fear of eliminating or scaring the witnesses is very ripe in view of his political and factional clout.

Some of them are quoting the example of former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha for losing her CM seat and imprisonment of 10 years, just for the sake of possessing illegal assets Rs. 66 crore. Worse have been the cases of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Madhu Koda and other Jharkhand leaders.
