PD Act invoked against Home Guard
A chain-snatcher who was working as Home Guard in a Traffic ACP office was booked under PD Act on Saturday. He was arrested, based on the image sent by a woman through Whatsapp. She sent the image related to an incident occurred in April.

According to police, Mahender Singh Chowda, 28, resident of Suraram colony was involved in a series chain-snatching cases while working as Home Guard in Traffic ACP office of Balanagar. During the recent months, he was involved in 38 cases of chain-snatching under 10 police station limits on the outskirts of the city.
During the latest attempt, a woman was able to grab his image. After it was sent it to the police, they identified the culprit. During the investigation, it was found that he was in possession of 1 kg 12 tolas of gold, which was recovered. He was arrested in April and PD Act was invoked by Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand against him on Saturday.
