Police arrested Thotakura Srinivas Rao, 46, owner of Gayatri Tele venture and a contractor of Reliance towers, resident of Suraram Colony and a native of Prakasham district of AP, and Paricherla Rama Raju, 37, a native of Bellary district of Karnataka.

Police are making efforts to nab Venkatesh of East Godavari district. Acting on a tip-off, Task Force sleuths nabbed Srinivas Rao and Rama Raju on Thursday morning near Yatri Niwas at Begumpet when they were trying to dispose the stuff to the potential customers.

“Srinivas Rao migrated to Hyderabad in 1989 for a lucrative job. In 2007, he established Reliance towers firm in the name of Gayatri Tele venture at Jeedimetla in which he incurred loss and closed down the business.

A couple of days back he came in contact with Rama Raju and learnt that he has opium which he purchased from Venkatesh. They both hatched a plan to sell the material to needy customers at a hefty price,” DCP (Task Force), B Limba Reddy said.
