Hyderabad: Two girls died and four others of the same family were severely injured when the car in which they were travelling hit a road divider and turned upside down near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad here in the wee hours of Tuesday.


The victims were identified as Beenash Barin, 12, a resident of Ghazibanda in Kamatipura area and Shahzera Zareen, 18, of Red Hills, Lakdikapul. The injured were immediately rushed to Apollo Hospital and reported to be critical. According to police, the girls along with some of their family members had gone to RGIA to see off a relative going abroad.


While returning back from the airport, the driver of the Hyundai Verna car lost control over the steering while negotiating a U-turn near the airport and hit a road divider. “Following the accident, the occupants of the car received severe head injuries. The two girls were declared brought dead at the airport hospital while four others were put under emergency medical care,” the cops said.
