Hyderabad: In a shocking incident at Rajendranagar here, Radhika, a 23-year-old married woman was kidnapped by some people who demanded Rs 3 lakh ransom for her release. The kidnappers also warned the family that they would sell her to Mumbai's red light area if they failed to give the money.

The woman’s husband, A Mahesh Kumar, suspected that the abductors might have known his family. The husband received a WhatsApp call on Friday from the kidnappers who demanded that he deposit Rs 3 lakh in a bank account. Photos of her with injuries and confined in inhuman condition were also sent.

A woman in a burka with hands tied and mouth bound with a cloth was seen lying on the floor with blood stains in the photo that was sent to Mahesh. He suspected that one Raju who was known to the woman through WhatsApp chat was involved in the incident. According to the police, they had formed three teams to investigate the case from various angles including running away with a known person.

They said Radhika was a resident of Yadava Reddy Colony, Upparpally, Rajendranagar and has been missing since Monday. Her husband, Mahesh Kumar, registered a complaint with the police on Tuesday. Police registered a case of kidnap and came to conclusion that the so-called kidnappers won her confidence before inviting her to a temple in Upparpally from where she had gone missing.

According to sources, the suspect is believed to have befriended her through chatting on WhatsApp. The police, who also recorded the mobile number of the suspect as per the complaint of Mahesh, found that the SIM and Account Number provided was registered with the same name, a possible accomplice of Raju.

Meanwhile, the panicked husband of the woman deposited the ransom amount of Rs 3 lakh and also informed the police on Friday. The police found that the cash was withdrawn from an ATM, whose exact location they refused to reveal.
