Hyderabad: Mystery still shrouds the missing of 23-year-old woman A Radhika since she went missing on July 6 from Upparpally under Rajendranagar police station limits. According to sources, it was reported that the investigation team who tracked the abductor to Odisha found his phone switched off on Sunday.

  • Team of five cops including 3 SIs, 2 constables sent to Odisha
  • Property feud could be the reason, say sources

Cops were anticipating the phone to be switched on again so that the location could be tracked easily as the SIM tries to register on network and phone IMEI number would be sent to service provider during the process and the location can be tracked easily. However, a team of five policemen including three sub-inspectors and two constables were sent to Odisha.

Meanwhile, sources said that Shyam Sundar, father of A Radhika, is not the biological father but he raised her as his own daughter and performed her marriage to Mahesh, a resident of Attapur, seven years ago. Shyam Sundar owns a property and the bone of contention was the possession of the property.

Unconfirmed reports said that Mahesh was also eyeing the property and kidnap of Radhika could be on similar lines. The ‘kidnapper’ who demanded Rs 3 lakh ransom to set Radhika free threatened that he would sell her to brothel operators in Mumbai if the money was not paid.

The missing woman case became more intriguing, prompting the police to form special teams and probe in various angles. Police are reported to be closing their net on Raju, Whatsapp friend of Radhika, and are taking steps to ensure that he did not escape. However, police refused to divulge any details.
