Pakistani Wife Murderer Jailed For Life. A Pakistani immigrant who killed his wife for refusing to help him obtain a permanent British residency has been jailed for life, a media report said on Saturday.

London: A Pakistani immigrant who killed his wife for refusing to help him obtain a permanent British residency has been jailed for life, a media report said on Saturday.

Jamshaid Khan, 30, failed to secure residency despite tying the knot with Bulgarian citizen Milena Yulianova, the Guardian reported.

Khan had already started looking for another European woman on Facebook who could help him stay in the country, before stabbing the 27-year-old Yulianova to death.

In January last year, he stabbed Yulianova 14 times at their home in Forest Gate, east London.

Khan, however, denied killing her and claimed he had acted in self-defence.

But the jury found him guilty of murder.

"You are a manipulative, devious and deceitful man who wriggled and writhed your way through the trial," Judge Stephen Kramer QC was quoted as saying.

"You killed Milena in anger because she would not help and support you in your application," Kramer added.

"While the marriage existed in 2014, you were already looking for other eastern European women who you thought could help. You were chatting with them on Facebook," he said.

Khan even told one of the women on Facebook that his wife had died in a car accident.

"Those conversations indicate you were already contemplating you might feel the need to replace her," the Guardian report quoted the judge as saying.

Khan will now serve a minimum of 20 years in jail.
