VRO, Inspector, Junior Asst in ACB trap

Village Revenue Officer of Ankole in Nizamabad district, Prohibition and Excise Inspector and a Junior Assistant from Manthani of Karimnagar district were arrested by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Friday on the charges of demanding and accepting bribe from complainants in various instances.

Telangana ACB Director General A K Khan, in a press statement, on Friday said S Sailu, VRO of Ankole and Baswapalli villages under Birkoor mandal in Nizamabad district was trapped on August 20 at his private office in Ankole when he demanded and accepted bribe of Rs 3,000 from Parigi Santosh Reddy to mutate the 1.23 acre agricultural land from complainant’s name to that of his wife and to make a corresponding entry in the title deed.
The accused was arrested on Friday and produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases in Karimnagar. In another incident, P Samuel John, Inspector of Prohibition and Excise Department in Manthani and D Raghu Kumar, Junior Assistant at the same office were caught on Thursday when they demanded and accepted Rs 8,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively as bribe from complainant T Chandramouli, president of Toddy Tappers’ Cooperative Society of Lakkaram village under Mutharam mandal of Karimnagar district.
