Girl complains of sexual abuse by father
A 13-year-old girl approached the Medipally police to complain against her parents for alleged sexual abuse. According to sources, the girl, a seventh standard student, living at Indira Nagar in Boduppal, approached Balala Hakkula Sangham on Monday seeking protection from her parents.
Hyderabad: A 13-year-old girl approached the Medipally police to complain against her parents for alleged sexual abuse. According to sources, the girl, a seventh standard student, living at Indira Nagar in Boduppal, approached Balala Hakkula Sangham on Monday seeking protection from her parents.
The girl was sent for medical examination at a Government Hospital and was later guided to the Medipally police station to lodge a complaint against her parents.
In her complaint, she stated that her father Srinivas, an auto-rickshaw driver, was sexually abusing and exploiting her. When she told her mother Jyothi Rani about the abuse, her mother did not help her, instead she threatened the victim not to disclose the matter to anyone, the sources said.
The girl on Sunday ran away from home and took shelter at her grandmother’s home in Secunderabad. With the help of her grandmother, she lodged a complaint.
Basing on the complaint, the Medipally police booked a case under Juvenile Justice Act and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act against Srinvas and Jyothi and started investigation.
