Vijayawada : Woman cricketer J Durga Bhavani, resident of Gunadala here, committed suicide by hanging in her house on Sunday. The police are yet to ascertain the reasons for the extreme step taken by the cricketer. It is said that she committed suicide due to family disputes.
Her daughter was staying with her grandmother at the time of the incident. A case has been registered and the police have taken up the investigation, Machavaram CI Umamaheswara Rao said. Durga Bhavani represented South Zone in Under-19 and Andhra senior women’s team.
