Dantewada (Chhattisgarh): As many as 12 vehicles engaged in mining works were allegedly set on fire by the CPI-Maoists in two separate incidents on Thursday night and Friday morning in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada and Bijapur districts.

The banned outfit members torched 10 vehicles engaged in mining works at Chargaon iron ore mining under Siksod police station limits on Friday morning.

Earlier, the Maoists stopped a bus between Duddheda and Gorla villages under Madded police limits and asked the passengers to get down. Later, they set the bus on fire. The bus was heading to Bhoopalpatnam from Jagdalpur.

It is also learnt that the Maoists fired at another bus on the same route. A bullet shell was found on the road. The pamphlets left by the Maoists at the site sought support of the people for their proposed Dandakaranya bandh on November 2.
