Hyderabad: The death of 45-yaer-old realtor from Keesara was not natural and he was killed by a former Jana Shakthi naxal, said Cyberabad police.

On December 18, Krishna Mohan Rao (45), realtor and proprietor of Sri Balaji Metal Industries in Keesara was found dead on the road lying under a tree at Timmayipalli. Mohan Rao was heading to Keesara on some work when the incident took place.

Keesara inspector Guruva Reddy, who inspected the scene of offence, said that Mohan Rao died after he was hit with an object similar to an iron rod and succumbed to heavy bleeding. The body was then shifted to Gandhi Hospital Mortuary for autopsy. The next day, the postmortem report surprised the police officers that a piece of metal, suspected to be a bullet was recovered from the dead man’s head.

It is said that Krishna Mohan and Srinivasa Rao were business partners in real estate field. During investigation, the police found that the partners had some disputes in financial dealings. On sustained efforts, the police caught Srinivasa Rao, who was on run since the killing.

“To settle the issue, Srinivasa Rao approached a former Jana Shakthi naxal, but in vain. Srinivasa Rao was not satisfied and wanted to eliminate his partner. For this, he went to Warangal and sought help of another former naxal of the same group, who accepted the contract to kill Mohan Rao,” the officials said.

On the day of incidence, the former naxal and Srinivasa Rao intercepted Mohan Rao on his way to Keesara from Alwal and shot him dead, the police officials said quoting Srinivasa Rao.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand on Tuesday confirmed that Krishna Mohan Rao was gunned down by a former Jana Shakthi naxal. Investigation is on and the accused will be soon arrested and produced before the media, the commissioner said.
