Nalgonda: Two more persons involved in the international kidney sale racket were arrested by the Nalgonda police in Hyderabad on Monday. They were brought to Nalgonda.

Producing the arrested before the media in the town, Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikram Jeet Duggal said, “Kasparaju Suresh, one of the agents in the kidney racket, confessed and disclosed the names of another two persons hailing from Hyderabad who sold their kidneys.”

Accordingly, the police arrested Nakka Shivaraj Goud, a resident of Patancheru and Mohammed Waseemuddin, a resident of Chandrayanagutta, in Hyderabad and brought them to Nalgonda town. Both of them were also sent by Kasaparaju Suresh to Sri Lanka and they underwent the kidney removal operation on July 18 last year in Western and Navaloka hospitals, SP Vikram Jeet said.

According to the confession of Kasparaju Suresh, a total of 16 people including him sold their kidneys after undergoing kidney transplant operations at hospitals in Sri Lanka. In all, four from Nalgonda, four from Hyderabad, four from Bangalore, two from Tamil Nadu and one each from Mumbai and New Delhi were paid donors, who received Rs 5 lakh each for selling their kidneys.

“Among the 16 persons, six of the accused were arrested and efforts were being made to arrest the remaining 10 accused,” the SP said.
