4 students commit suicide
Unable to overcome depression, four students including two minors ended their lives in Hyderabad in separate incidents on Friday. T Manasa (19), a degree student from Anand Colony in Bowenpally committed suicide by hanging in the bathroom. She was a first year degree student at Dewan Bahadur College for women in Secunderabad.

On Thursday, she did not go to college for reasons not known to family members. Her younger brother Manikanta, who came home in the evening from college, scolded her for not attending college. She immediately felt humiliated and rushed into the bathroom and hanged herself, the Bowenpally police said.
Investigation revealed that Manasa had attempted to end life couple of times earlier too. A case of suspicious death has been registered basing on the complaint given by her father. In another incident at Ibrahimpatnam, Pujarla Sandeep (19), a native of Suryapet in Nalgonda district committed suicide by hanging from a window. According to the Ibrahimpatnam police, Sandeep was studying BTech (ECE) second year in Gurunanak College of Engineering at Ibrahimpatnam.
He was staying along with four others in a rented room.When Sandeep’s friends asked him why he was not coming to college, he told them that he had some work. On Friday evening, when they returned to the room, Sandeep was seen hanging from the window. Basing on a complaint by his friends, a case has been registered under suspicious death by the police.
In another incident, a 17-year-old intermediate first year student, who got poor marks in internal examinations, hanged himself in the hostel room at KPHB on Friday. The victim, Yashwanth Reddy (17) of Venpur village in Khammam district was studying MPC first year at NRI Junior College in KPHB and staying at the college hostel.
On Friday, after completion of classes, Yashwanth went to his room and hanged himself. His friends who saw him hanging informed the college management and they called the police. It is suspected that he was upset at his marks in the internal examinations held recently. A case has been registered by the KPHB police. In yet another incident, G Vivekananda (20), degree first year student of Nizam College hanged himself from the ceiling of the hostel room he was staying in Ashok Nagar.
Vivekananda, hailing from Munagala of Nalgonda, was staying at Meghana Reddy Boys’ Hostel in Ashok Nagar. On Thursday night, when his friend Rahul called him several times on phone, he did not respond. later, his friends found him hanging from the ceiling.
