Mirdoddi Mandal (Medak district): In a ghastly incident, a six-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her teacher in Akbarpet Village in Mirdoddi Mandal a couple of days ago which came to light on Monday. Outraged over the act, her parents and local people attacked the school and set two school buses on fire.
The victim, who is in her second class in Vikas High School (English Medium), has been suffering from fever and mouth infection since a couple of days. As she was reluctant to go to school on Monday, her parents asked her what happened. She told her parents that Siddini Kumar (25), a Physical Education Teacher in that school has been sexually abusing her and therefore she was scared to go to school.

As tension prevailed for some time, Medak SP B Sumathi, MLA Ramalinga Reddy, MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and others reached the spot to bring situation under control.
The accused Kumar, who had sensed threat, left the school premises even before the crowd reached the school. He later turned himself to the Bhoompally Police station. He was handed over to the custody of DSP Sridhar Babu in Siddipet. Bhoompally SI Prasad said the accused had been charged with Section 376 of IPC and provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
