Bhainsa (Adilabad): Unable to clear his mounting debts, a farmer committed suicide by consuming pesticide here at Elagram village of Bhainsa Rural mandal on Friday.
The deceased farmer, Pradeep (24), used to cultivate cotton and soya crops in his six acres of land. Due to the deficit rainfall and severe drought conditions prevailing in the district, his crops withered away and he was unable to repay Rs 4 lakh loan.
Depressed over his dwindling financial condition, he committed suicide in his agricultural field.
