Spurned youth slits girl’s throat

Nalgonda: A youth has slit the throat of his colleague when she rejected his love proposal in the district on Saturday. According to Nampally police, Garlapati Anita of Bandlagudem village of Nampally mandal and S Raj Kumar of Perikedu of Rayaparthy mandal in Warangal district were working in a private junior college in Hyderabad.

Raj Kumar has been reportedly harassing Anitha and forcing her to love him. Anita came to her native village for summer holidays. She was shocked to see Raj Kumar at her house on Saturday and warned him to leave the village. Ignoring her warning, Raj Kumar asked her to marry him. When she rejected, he cut her throat with a blade.

The villagers caught Raj Kumar after hearing Anita’s cry for help and handed him over to Nampally police. Anita’s family members shifted her to Nalgonda Government Hospital. After preliminary treatment, the doctors informed that she was out of danger. On the parents’ request, later she was shifted to a private hospital in Nalgonda town.

The Nampally police booked a case against Raj Kumar based on the complaint of victim’s family members. Women organisations in the district condemned the attack on Anita and demanded stringent action against Raj Kumar.
