Five held for devil worship
In a bizarre incident, the police arrested five persons regarding devil worship in Mellacheruvu. Though the incident took place on Saturday, it came to light on Sunday. According to Mellachervu police, Shaik Jani Begum, resident of Mellachervu, asked three persons, called C Apparao, Peenaganti Ramesh and Bhaskarla Ravi Kumar of Palvancha of Khammam district.
Nalgonda: In a bizarre incident, the police arrested five persons regarding devil worship in Mellacheruvu. Though the incident took place on Saturday, it came to light on Sunday. According to Mellachervu police, Shaik Jani Begum, resident of Mellachervu, asked three persons, called C Apparao, Peenaganti Ramesh and Bhaskarla Ravi Kumar of Palvancha of Khammam district to perform some evil pujas to settle the health problems of her family member.
Meanwhile, Jani Begum’s neighbor, who lost one of his family member three months ago, observed these pujas and doubted that Jani Begum was doing something to harm his family. When he questioned Jani Begum about the rituals going on in her house, heated arguments took place.
Being informed by the locals, police rushed to the spot and found out a few indications of evil worship being performed in Jani Begum’s house. The police arrested Jani Begum, her husband Saida and the persons performing the devil puja.
