Mobile thief arrested

A mobile phone thief has been arrested by the Chikkadpally police for stealing mobile phones from houses. According to the police, the accused Kondala Ramesh (27), a cook at Paradise Hotel in Secunderabad, used to conduct recce in residential areas during nights and steal mobile phones and laptops from the houses wherever he found windows open during nights.

The accused, hailing from Srikakulam, had completed ITI and worked as a mechanic for some time. With the responsibility of feeding his younger brother and sister, Ramesh chose to steal phones and sell them to make easy money, said the police. Upon his arrest, as many as 25 mobile phones worth Rs 1.5 lakh were recovered from him, the police added.
