​Sangareddy: Sangareddy rural police on Tuesday thwarted the attempts of armed robbers and arrested four people alleged to have planned to carry out a series of armed robberies in and around Medak district.

According to Circle Inspector Narender, Sangareddy rural police station, they were carrying out routine vehicle checks on Monday night when the passengers of a four-wheeler tried to run away as they spotted the police.

All the four were chased and arrested by the police. Two revolvers, three rounds of ammunition and two knives were recovered from them.

Raju Yadav, Ajay Kumar and Vikas Yadav, residents of Uttar Pradesh had come to carry out armed robberies in Medak district with the help of Riyasat, a resident of Sangareddy. All the four were taken into custody. They are being charged with Section 25 (A) of Indian Arms Act.
