Students charge headmaster with molestation
The girl students of Class 8 and 9 of the Zilla Parishad High School of Halia in Nalgonda on Tuesday lodged a complaint with Mandal Education Officer, Tari Ramu, against the school headmaster, Gunda Krishna Murthy, accusing him of molestation and for threatening them with dire consequences if they complained to anyone.
Halia: The girl students of Class 8 and 9 of the Zilla Parishad High School of Halia in Nalgonda on Tuesday lodged a complaint with Mandal Education Officer, Tari Ramu, against the school headmaster, Gunda Krishna Murthy, accusing him of molestation and for threatening them with dire consequences if they complained to anyone.
The complaint that was signed by the girls was forwarded to DEO Chadra Mohan.
During the inquiry on Wednesday, the girls informed the DEO that the headmaster used to call them into his office and sexually abuse them. They added that the headmaster threatened them of issuing Transfer Certificates if anyone dared to bring the matter to light, which has been going for the last several months.
After examining the report of enquiry officers, District Collector Gaurav Uppal directed the DEO to suspend the headmaster from the services.
