4 die as tempo, bus collide
Four persons were killed on the spot and four others sustained serious injuries when a tempo-traveller was hit by a private travels bus near Madavan Garden in Bangarupalyam, 28 km from Chittoor.

According Chittoor SP Rajasekhara Babu, a group of pilgrims consisting of nine members of Kasaragod, Kerala state, were travelling in a tempo-traveller to visit Tirumala. The SP said when the driver of ill-fated vehicle reportedly tried to overtake a container passing towards Tirupati, a private travels bus coming in opposite direction speedily hit the tempo.
In the incident, three men and one woman of the tempo were killed on the spot and four others sustained serious injuries. The bodies and the injured were rushed to Bangarupalem Government Hospital. The identities of victims are yet to be ascertained.
A message was passed to Kerala State DGP for due follow-up. After completion of the post-mortem, all the four bodies were handed over to the kin of the deceased, the SP added. A case was registered in Bangarupalem police station.
