Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police on Friday apprehended one on charges that the accused was involved in chain snatching incidents that took place in LB Nagar zone in the last two days. The police found a bike that was allegedly used to commit the crime in Old City and took the owner into custody for interrogation.
According to Rachakonda Police, the bike was found near Volta hotel in Bhavani Nagar police station limits in Old city on Friday. When the locals found the KTM bike bearing no TS 08 BP 4005 in their area and nobody claimed possession they immediately informed the police. After taking it into their possession, Bhavani Nagar police informed higher officials. The bike costs approximately Rs 1.5 lakh and can run 200 KMPH speed. The bike was registered at Malakpet RTA office.
The bike was identified at Hayathnagar Kuntlur area where chain snatchers committed their last offence before absconding. The bike was captured at Chaderghat in the CCTVs. Police through reverse engineering technique are verifying all the CCTV footage and carefully watching the entry and exit points to the city specifically in LB Nagar Zone limits. Meanwhile, Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said that the chain snatchers who disturbed peace and harmony in the city would be nabbed soon.
