After making a surprise visit to the government hospital here she said the operation theatre, laboratory, labour and maternity ward and other departments dealing with emergency services should be run with solar energy. Vani Mohan inspected the solar lights in the operation theatre and three maternity wards and examined how the 18 lights and six fans were installed. She inaugurated 18 lights and six fans in the trauma care centre and solar systems in the intensive care unit. The collector enquired how doctors had performed operations when there were power cuts. Doctors told her that they had used charge lights. Solar power systems were also useful. She said all government hospitals in the district would run on solar energy. Earlier, speaking at the anti-malarial month campaign launch here, Vani Moha asked officials to enlighten the rural masses about seasonal diseases which occur during rainy season.
