Rajahmundry: The Journalists’ Joint Action Committee (J-JAC) of twin-Godavari districts offered prayers at Rev. Devadas Church here on Saturday as part of Samaikyandhra agitation. Head of the church Rev. Vijayaraj held special prayers with more than 5,000 women. He said they were praying to the Almighty to keep the State united. J-JAC convenor G Bhushan Babu said there would be no peace in the State if bifurcation took place. He said they organised special prayers in all churches, mosques and temples seeking a united Andhra Pradesh.

Chamber of Commerce JAC, led by Nandepu Srinivas and other JAC members led by Madduri Siva Subbarao organised relay hunger strike at Kotagummam in Rajahmundry on Saturday. TK Visweswara Reddy of RUCA, Rayudu Venugopala Rao and others participated in the relay fast.

A round-table meeting was held at Anam Kala Kendram by Buddiga Srinivas, Prasadula Harnath and Mulla Madhav. Experts who participated in the meeting said it was better not to divide the State and Telangana would be parched without power and irrigation facilities and Andhra would benefit even if bifurcation took place.
