Rajahmundry: It is the Congress government which ‘sliced the hearts’ of people and the Telugu Desam backed the ruling party in finishing the task, YSRCP leader Sharmila alleged at a public meeting in Ravulapalem on Friday. She faulted the government and the main Opposition party for the State’s bifurcation move just to ‘secure votes’ when the people were struggling to cope with skyrocketing prices. Her “Samaikya Shankaravam” bus yatra entered the district during the day. She got a resounding reception. Thousands from the Rajahmundry, Mandapeta and Kothapeta Assembly constituencies listened to Sharmila.

She alleged that TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu had hurriedly taken up the Delhi visit just to obstruct bail to the party president and Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy. But, he would be out of jail with the blessings of YSR and well-wishers. Sharmila claimed that Jagan was imprisoned, even though he did no wrong, just to curtail the party’s clout. She claimed that the State was being subjected to a ‘misrule’.

The YSRCP leader reminded the gathering that all the people’s representatives had resigned immediately after the Congress announced the move to bifurcate the State. She demanded united Andhra be retained since equal justice was being denied to all regions.
Sharmila questioned Naidu how he could approach the Seemandhra people after giving a letter to the Centre favouring Telangana. She reiterated that the Krishna and Godavari deltas would turn into deserts if the State was bifurcated and the party’s resolve to fight to retain AP.
