Kakinada (East Godavari): Expressing concern over the future of the rest of the Andhra Pradesh if the state was divided, YSR Congress leader Y S Sharmila said here on Saturday that Seemandhra would become desert and the crops would wither away.
Addressing a mammoth gathering as part of her ‘Samaikya Shankharavam’ at masjid centre here Sharmila asserted that it was only the YSR Congress party that could keep the state united.
Attacking the chief minister said that Kiran Kumar Reddy was the most ineffective CM Andhra Pradesh has ever had. She held TDP chief Chandrababu solely responsible for the Congress decision to divide the state. Complimenting the NGOs for undertaking strike by foregoing one month salary, Sharmila assured them that they would be paid one month bonus after Jagan became chief minister. She congratulated the women to come out in large numbers in support of the NGOs and the agitation for united state.
Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy was also present.
