The two- hour event had a fitting finale with a sensational fashion show with renowned models from Mumbai and Bangalore showcasing exquisite designs by the students. The show began with great panache as the model and actor Sridhar Rao opened the show and set the mood of the audience high. The theme of the show was inspired by ‘West’ which was an interesting marriage of Western states of India and the culture called ‘West’. The theme was visibly reflective in the colours, designs and patterns. The costumes used Origami paper foldings, net fabrics, sequins, handlooms, costumes based on rusty art, potpourri, birds, and inspirations from Banaras with Rajasthani turbans, German silver, unusual headgears and leather neckpieces.

The highlight of the show was the grand ending of the fashion show with the most unusual showstopper the internet dancing sensation – The Dancing Uncle walking the ramp with oomph. This was a first! Sanjeev Shrivastava, famously known as ‘Dancing Uncle’ was in Hyderabad for the very first time and his life’s first fashion show.  The students of interior design and fashion design also had put up an interesting display of re-cycled models, products and garments at the event.

On this occasion, Ayesha Azhar Mujahid, Principal and CEO, Lakhotia Institute of Design said, “Graduation ceremony is a very important day in the life of a student and we just tried our bit to make it very special for our students. We are grateful to Ramesh Dembla, Mr. Sridhar Rao, Mr. Aashish Raj and Sanjeev Shrivastava for accepting our invitation and making this day special.
