Soon, manual certificates will be a thing of past!

​Tirupati: If all goes well, manual certificates issuing will be stopped by the all Universities across the nation shortly. In this regard University  Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi has designed National Academic Depository (NAD) project to allot the digital lockers to students through the universities concerned. As part of this project soon all universities should switchover from manual marks memos issuing to digital marks memos issuing set up.

According to information, in future there would be no manual certificates issuing system. Instead of that every student will get one digital locker with key.  From Degree first year to final year as well as PG four semester examinations marks will be uploaded directly into students digital lockers by the University concerned. These marks memos and other certificates  uploaded by the University into student digital locker would be accessible to both student and University concerned.  

Using the personal key (password) student can directly obtain his or her marks memorandum and other personal details via online platform anywhere in the world. Suppose if a student appears to an interview in private company at Germany,  that company has no need to send the candidate study details to the University concerned in India  for verification. They can directly verify about the student marks memos and other personal details including Aadhaar, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name all online.  

The main object of NAD is to bring the digital revolution in Indian Universities marks memos issuing system. As part of this project implementation UGC has already appointed two private agencies to set up National Academic Depository (NAD) system in digital form for depositing the marks memos in this web bank by the all universities in India.  

In the first phase UGC has selected 26 autonomous Universities under NAD project for implementing of digital locker system of students. From Andhra Pradesh State Sri Venkateswara University, Acharya Nagarjuna, Andhra Universities were included by the UGC for NAD.

According to SV University sources, it is a technological revolution in higher learning, as varsities’ expenditure will be also reduced. In this regard   UGC sent an official communication to the university authorities recently that if the varsity has not switched over to digital locker system,   grants would be stopped.

 SV University in charge Vice Chancellor G Janakiramaiah speaking to The Hans India told that NAD system is very useful to issue the certificates to the students in digital format, for this student should register his or her details in to varsity web bank (NAD) at the time of degree admission. 

From that time to time all the exams marks memos will be uploaded to the NAD web bank.  Student concerned can obtain the marks memo from his digital locker at any time at anywhere in the world for personal use, similarly university also can access the student digital locker through another key. Overall there is two keys will be provided by the UGC to the Student and varsity.
