Cambridge International collaborates with International Award for Young People to broaden curriculum
Cambridge International is collaborating with The International Award for Young People IAYP to offer Cambridge schools new ways to broaden their curriculum alongside Cambridge academic programmes
Hyderabad: Cambridge International is collaborating with The International Award for Young People (IAYP) to offer Cambridge schools new ways to broaden their curriculum alongside Cambridge academic programmes.
This new initiative will enhance learning both inside and outside the classroom. IAYP delivers the Duke of Edinburgh Award in India. The Duke of Edinburgh Award is the world's leading youth achievement award in over 130 countries. It is open to all 14-24-year olds and has inspired millions of young people around the world to transform their lives.
Cambridge International’s collaboration with the IAYP will help Cambridge schools in India provide students with a holistic education and develop students who are confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged. It will also create opportunities for young people to develop skills such as teamwork and collaboration, get physically active, give service to their local community and experience adventure.
Ruchira Ghosh, Regional Director South Asia, Cambridge International, said: “At Cambridge International we are committed to offering broad and balanced curriculum to our learners, and we believe this Award provides excellent learning experiences that can complement Cambridge Pathway programmes and qualifications.
Just as Cambridge qualifications enjoy worldwide recognition, the IAYP is internationally recognised as evidence that a student has completed an excellent programme that will have challenged them and nurtured the development of desirable character traits and qualities.”
Kapil Bhalla, National Director, IAYP said: “Both Cambridge International and the IAYP believe that not all learning happens in the classroom – in fact, some of life’s biggest lessons can happen in the least likely locations.
By offering the Award as non-formal education alongside the academic Cambridge programmes, schools will have the opportunity to help students step outside their comfort zone and develop soft skills such as leadership, teamwork and confidence through a holistic education.”
