NIT-W students win Delta Shootout . Team Mechxhausters of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal, were adjudged as the national champions in Delta Shootout 2014 held at Jamshedpur recently.

Team Mechxhausters of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal, were adjudged as the national champions in Delta Shootout 2014 held at Jamshedpur recently.

Delta Shootout was an all terrain vehicle design and manufacturing event. Around 45 teams from various engineering colleges across India took part in the three day event.
The teams were given the task of designing and manufacturing an all terrain vehicle with an engine capacity of less than 400 cc. Not only being a breeding ground for automobile enthusiasts, the students also get hands-on knowledge about cars which were virtually non-existent in everyday curriculum. The teams were tested for their design, endurance and driving skills.
The team Mechxausters also won an award for best design and engineering. Further, they stood first in endurance and second in hill climbing. Apart from hill climbing and endurance tests, maneuverability and accelerations were tested.
The project was party sponsored by the college. The team Mechxauster include Aradh Vemula, Shine Eapen and Rahul Reddy from mechanical stream and Dhanraj, Ravi Teja, Anand Bharadwaj, Siva Vikranth, Bharath, Tarun Saketh, Sai Nagendra, Revanth Reddy , Bhargav and Vamsi Krishna Reddy students from third year engineering. The team spent about Rs 1.5 lakh to manufacture the car.
