Hyderabad: In a bid to encourage brilliant students from Minority community for taking up civil services, the state’s Minorities Welfare Department has introduced a scheme to provide free coaching to 100 candidates of minority community for UPSC Civil Services Examinations CSAT-2014 in Hyderabad.

The Centre for Educational Development of Minorities (CEDM) Nizam College, Hyderabad will implement the scheme.
Announcing this to media on Tuesday, Shaik Mohammed Iqbal, Commissioner Minorities Welfare Department and Prof. S A Shukoor Director CEDM said the candidates will be selected through a screening test which will be conducted on March 2.
Applications for the screening test may be submitted along with two passport size photos and a copy of marks memo of degree on or before February 25.
The application forms can be obtained and submitted at the ten district centres-Hyderabad, Kurnool, Guntur, Vishakhapatnam, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Kadapa, Warangal Mahaboobnagar, , and Sangareddy (Medak). For more details, visit http://cedmou.ap.nic.in
“The total annual income of the candidate and his / her parents should not exceed Rs 1 lakh. The candidates who have already availed of the same coaching earlier from Centre for Educational Development of Minorities (CEDM) are not eligible. Thirty three per cent reservation will be given to women candidates and 3 per cent for PH persons,” Shukoor said.
They further said that the CEDM which has three regional centres at Kurnool, Guntur and Vizag will very soon open three more Study Centres at Hyderabad, Kadapa and Pileru (Chittoor).
