ZPHS Kapra goes digital. Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, inaugurated a Computer Education Programme at Zilla Parishad High School, Kapra on Monday.

ECIL sponsors computer education programme and other infrastructure

Hyderabad: Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, inaugurated a Computer Education Programme at Zilla Parishad High School, Kapra on Monday. The objective of programme is to build up educational and physical infrastructure and provide computer education in the government schools around ECIL. The company selected the school as the students are mostly from poorer classes of the society and cannot afford computer education. This will be useful for students to pursue higher education and increase their employability.

P Sudhakar, Chairman and Managing Director, ECIL, inaugurated the programme. Kishor Rungta, Director (Finance), VSB Babu, Director (Personnel) of the Company and Kotha Rama Rao, Corporator, Kapra Division, GHMC were also present.

Computer classes will be imparted 894 students from Class VI-X according to a prescribed syllabus. ECIL had established the computer lab in the school in 2011 and did the ground work for the Computer Education Programme between 2011-13.

Further, the company said it will renovate the computer lab with adequate lighting to make it look like a modern computer lab which will inspire the students to visit the lab and learn.

The existing 20 computers will be maintained by ECIL. Five computers and two printers will be added soon. 50 classroom chairs will also be supplied to the school. For computer infrastructure and education at the school, the Company has an approved budget of Rs 4.5 lakh during this year. D Bala Koteswara Rao, AGM (Personnel) has informed that a budget of Rs 12.34 lakh has been allocated by the company towards infrastructure like separate toilet blocks for girls and boys, window shutters, water storage and distribution systems etc. The work will commence shortly, he added.
