32 students of RGUKT are going to the US today to attend NASA’s International Space Development Conference in Los Angles
Hyderabad: The contingent of 32 students of Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) who won prizes in the NASA Ames Space Settlement Design Contest 2014 will be leaving to the US on Tuesday to attend the 33rd NSS International Space Development Conference in Los Angeles.
The event is scheduled to be held from May 14 to May 18. The students have completed their visa formalities in the US consulate on Monday. This year, students of the university have won prizes for 19 projects done by them. The NASA Ames Space Settlement Contest is an annual contest, which invites students from around the world, to design permanent orbital settlements in space, not on any planet or moon, and the best designs out the all entries are awarded prizes. The contest is co- sponsored by NASA Ames, one of the ten research centers of NASA located in California and NSS (National Space Society), an independent, educational, non-profit organisation dedicated to the creation of a space faring civilisation. The entries are invited in individual and group categories from the Class VII to Class 12 students.
