IIIT Students Win Prizes At NASA. A total of 34 out of 57 RGUKT students, who won prizes at the NASA Ames Space Settlement Design Contest 2014, returned to India yesterday from USA after attending the NSS 33rd International Space Development Conference in Los Angeles.

Hyderabad: A total of 34 out of 57 RGUKT students, who won prizes at the NASA Ames Space Settlement Design Contest 2014, returned to India yesterday from USA after attending the NSS 33rd International Space Development Conference in Los Angeles. The student teams won two first prizes, five second prizes and two third prizes in the contest. The students were invited by the National Space Society of USA to attend the conference which was scheduled from May 14-18. The students gave oral presentations, displayed posters of their work and participated in the conference sessions at the conference organised by NASA.

This apart, North- South Foundation (NSF), a not for profit organisation run by NRIs organised the visit of RGUKT students to Robotics lab at University of Southern California and Observatory Planetarium, Los Angeles.

The students met Prof. RV Raja Kumar, Vice-Chancellor RGUKT, Prof. NP Rao, Prof. K Satyanarayana and Prof. K Kusuma Reddy at Head Quarters here and described their experiences in detail. The Vice- Chancellor complemented the students and advised the students to go to their schools where they passed their SSC and address their school juniors and serve as role models and inspire them, besides maintaining high standards and continue to be creative in their future.

The students expressed a lot of happiness with the experience and opportunity provided to them and thanked their sponsors SBI, SBH, RGUKT and the government of Andhra Pradesh and promised to live up to their expectations.
