Parents feel embarrassed to talk openly with their children about sex. Sex education can help people to take decisions regarding health and sexuality. Physical and mental changes in children start appearing with puberty. Many children find it stressful, strange and difficult to cope up with the changes.
Thus they grow up with curiosity. So it is very important to provide sex education. It makes growing children aware of the various changes taking place in their bodies and prepares them for responsible adulthood.
But it should be taught in the correct technique. They should be provided with the correct information and accurate facts. Sex is not a topic that kids are discussing at home with their parents. If not discussed, children figure it out from other sources such as television movies friends and school.
Studies have shown that when kids are given sex education in school, the rates for teens getting pregnant or acquiring sexually transmitted diseases goes down.
If children are taught at the precise age depending on their physical, emotional, and intellectual development of the young people as well as their level of understanding then we could stop the increasing number of sexual violence cases.
It is high time for sex-education to be introduced in schools for the benefit of the youth of the country. Sex education in schools would banish many of the common myths among school children. It would create radical thinking among the youth.
