Hyderabad: At 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday, the EAMCET admissions committee would meet to discuss various issues like Web Options, Scrutiny of Certificates in Telangana and finalisation of dates etc. The meeting will be attended by the officials of both states.

It is evident that the impasse over engineering counselling in Telangana state has come to an end. The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has decided to issue the notification of engineering counselling on Wednesday. Speaking to the media at Telangana Secretariat here on Tuesday, TSCHE chairman Papi Reddy said that engineering counselling notification would be released by Technical Education Commissioner of Telangana.

He also stated that certificate verification process would commence from August 14 and conclude on August 23. “The TSCHE would coordinate with the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) for common admission process,” Reddy said.

“Students are requested to go to the nearest helpline centres to get their certificates verified,” he added. The TSCHE chairman stated that the counselling process would be completed as per the Supreme Court’s directive. Reddy urged students and parents not to panic with regard to counselling.

Given the circumstances, the Telangana government has only 10 days left to complete verification process. According to the sources in APSCHE, TSCHE has to call over 10,000 students in a day.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, APSCHE chairman Prof. L Venugopal Reddy said that the admission committee would meet on Wednesday to chalk out a schedule for the counselling. “Officials from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh would take part in the meeting,” he added.
