The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) held a special convocation’ for its first batch of 12 graduating students of the LLM in ‘Access to Success’ programme.

Mumbai: The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) held a special convocation’ for its first batch of 12 graduating students of the LLM in ‘Access to Success’ programme. In this convocation, diploma students in counselling (19); gerontology (4); youth development and social change (2); water sanitation and hygiene (16); community media (10); digital library and information management (23) received their certificates.

The Dalai Lama was the chief guest. He awarded the LLM degrees and distributed the academic awards and prizes for the degree and diploma programmes.

In his convocation address he said, “I pray every day. Everybody engages in prayer. However, it is not through prayer that things can be put right. Action, karma...these are what would change the world. Intelligence and education are very important for this action to happen.”
