Group I and II and other examinations of TSPSC will have Telangana focus

Hyderabad: The Academic Committee appointed by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) to review schemes and syllabi for various examinations headed by Prof. G Haragopal has almost completed its work assigned to it. The report will be submitted to the Commission in a few days, said the Chairman of the committee.

The committee held final meeting on Thursday at the Chambers of TSPSC Chairman, Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani. Speaking to The Hans India, Haragopal said that Group I and II and other examinations of TSPSC will have Telangana focus. This has become inevitable in the wake of formation of new State. The officers recruited through these examinations have to serve the state of Telangana. This necessitates testing of candidates understanding on issues of Telangana, he added.

“In the wake of bifurcation of the State, AP content has to be substituted with Telangana. Wherever, we felt for an improvement of the pattern, we did. We tried to retain the basic pattern of the examination,” Haragopal said. He stated that the revised syllabi would have marginal changes but not a major haul.

To a query on omission of objective type and addition of interview system in the Group II examination, the Chairman of the Committee said in the wake of bifurcation of the state, there would be necessary changes. “We are trying for the changes in the scheme. We will submit a report to the commission .There will not be major structural changes in the scheme of the examination,” he said.
