The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) which conducts GMAT in India has acquired the ownership of NMAT exam from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) University in March 2015 and has rebranded the test as NMAT. How different would the NMAT by GMAC be this year and in coming years from those conducted by NMIMS so far?
To answer your question on how different the NMAT by GMAC exam would be this year, there will be no change in the content of the NMAT by GMAC exam in the 2015 cycle.
--The format of the exam will remain same, it be a multiple-choice question paper that includes Quantitative Ability, Language Skills and Logical Reasoning. No additional preparation would be required by students appearing for the NMAT exam this year. In our continuing quest to connect talent and aspiration with opportunity, GMAC has brought in some of its best practices in enhancing the student experience giving the NMAT by GMAC exam this year.
Some of the changes introduced this year are as follows:
More payment option-This year the candidates will have an additional choice to pay the NMAT exam fees through net banking option. We have tied up with billdesk and it allows candidates to use any of the 58 banks listed in the net banking option to pay the exam fees online. This will give more choice to the candidates while registering for the exam.
Online score sending- Candidates can choose to send their NMAT exam scores electronically to any of the programmes offered by the 12 NMAT accepting institutions through the online score sending option within the registration system. Once candidate selects where he/she would like to send their NMAT scores, GMAC will submit the same to the respective institution electronically.
Register for the NMAT exam from mobile – allowing candidates to register anytime and anywhere.
NMAT prep material – GMAC is working to introduce the NMAT prep material for the benefit of the candidates sometime in August.This will reduce the anxiety of the candidates on the structure of the exam, content and the types of questions and help candidates to familiarize themselves with the NMAT exam
Please share the proposed NMAT by GMAC exam pattern NMAT exam is a 120-minute test with three sections. Exam Structure and Features:
Test takers can choose the order of sections.
Each of the three sections is individually timed. Test takers need to answer and review the questions of a particular section within the allotted section time.
Validity of NMAT by GMAC scores- one academic session or more?
The scores of the NMAT by GMAC will be valid for 1 year for the academic session starting 2016-2018.
Advantages of taking the NMAT by GMAC exam?
Leading institutions in India are accepting the NMAT scores. Candidates will have a choice to apply to 12 Universities/Business schools with this score. Today the NMAT is accepted by twelve institutions and the list is growing.
