Shimla: Tourists thronged Kufri hill station in Himachal Pradesh after it received fresh snowfall in the first week of March. A white blanket covered the entire hill station bringing delight to the tourists.

"We have come from Amritsar to see Kufri. We really liked the surroundings and snow here. One can see snow everywhere. We have never seen this much of snow before," said a tourist.

With the domestic tourists rushing in large numbers to the picturesque spot in Shimla, the traders involved in tourism sector are witnessing good business.

"People working in tourism industry such as horse riders, cab owners, ski operators will have good business as the hill station received the snowfall in the month of March after 1990. The business will run good for 10 to 15 days as the snow is around five to six feet deep and tourists will have great fun," said a travel agent named Kedar Kanwar.

Meanwhile, the state disaster management issued an avalanche threat at higher reaches of the state following the extreme weather conditions, according to a local media report.
