Nizambad recorded the highest maximum temperatures of 45 degrees Celsius in the southern region. Hanamakonda and Ramagundam had a high of 43 degrees C. While Kurnool, Tirupati, Jangameswarapuram, Adilabad and Nalgonda recorded 42 degrees Celsius, there was a maximum temperature of 41 degrees C in Nellore, Anantapur, Hyderabad, Khammam and Medak.

The other recordings in Andhra Pradesh were Kavali, Nandigama and Vijayawada 40 each. On Saturday, the maximum temperatures were normal in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

They were above normal at a few places in coastal AP and appreciably above normal at one or two places in Rayalaseema. In Telangana, the maximum temperatures rose at one or two places. They were above normal at few places. They were appreciably above normal at one or two places and above normal at many places in the rest of Telangana.

The Met office on Sunday forecast thunderstorm with squall at isolated places in Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh on May 4 under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over the central Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood. The Met office said isolated rain or thundershowers will occur in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the next four days.

It said that isolated rainfall occurred in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded (in cm) were: Andhra Pradesh: Nellore, Tirupati two each. Telangana: Bonakal , Nagarkurnool 2 each, Nalgonda, Chinthakam one each.
