Narendra Modi to kick-start it with 'Navabharat Yuvabheri'

Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has devised strategies and campaign programmes with an eye on the next general elections, informed Venkaiah Naidu, BJP senior leader on Saturday. Five senior leaders including him, who found a place in Narendra Modi's election campaign team, were assigned different responsibilities, he added. Speaking to newsmen at BJP state office in Nampally, the Rajya Sabha MP stated that he was tasked with the job of conducting rallies and meetings in Lok Sabha constituencies, reaching out to friends and well-wishers of BJP in various states as well as abroad.

This programme would kick-off with Narendra Modi's 'Navabharat Yuvabheri' meeting set to be held on August 11 in Hyderabad, he added. State leaders Bandaru Dattatreya would be involved in election manifesto committee, Haribabu in preparation of vision document while Muralidhar Rao was given the responsibility of mobilising different target groups. He further stated that BJP had prepared two different action plans - a hundred-day plan if elections were held in November and a two-hundred day plan if elections would be conducted sometime in April.

Meanwhile, Venkaiah Naidu flayed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his comments in Assocham meeting in New Delhi that UPA track record was good for the last few years. Manmohan Singh should answer whether he was referring to scams, corruption, increase of essential commodities prices, deteriorating law and order situation etc. Commenting on the Supreme Court verdict on convicted politicians, Venkaiah Naidu observed that more debate should be held on the key subject. There is a risk of ruling parties targeting their rivals based on the apex court verdict .
