Corrected to your taste

‘Correto’ is European word for ‘Corrected Copy’.When Westin Mindspace, Hyderabad, introduced ‘Correto E DelizeCaffeFreddo’ it was all about correcting (or shall we call it mellowing down) the strong espresso flavour and bringing in a balance by adding liqueurs and whipped cream. In addition to giving body to the coffee, the cream made for additional sweetness. The liqueurs on the other hand left a warm feeling on the palette, making for an enhanced coffee experience.

True coffee connoisseurs may abhor any kind of dilution to their espresso, but they can still try the ‘CaffeAmarula’ on the ‘Correto’ menu that has in double espresso, a dash of Amarula, hot milk and whipped cream. The hot espresso is slightly softened thanks to the additions, delights the tongue followed by the warm and slightly stronger flavour of the Amarula making its presence felt. ‘Cococcino’ on the other hand uses the Carribean liqueur Malibu and coconut syrup and no prizes for guessing the absolutely tropical taste of this coffee, but it does not compromise on the sharp flavour of coffee.

The cold coffee (on the DelizieCaffeFreddo menu) Baileys Frappuccino is a milder version with a single espresso made rich with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream and two liqueurs Baileys and Kahlua. And obviously it is less coffee and more a mocktail, and is delicious. ‘Dusky Mandarin’ on the other hand is a connoisseur’s delight – Single Espresso with Cointreau and triple sec.

Drinking coffee is an after-dinner habit of the Italians. For most of us who still have a long way to go before appreciating the virgin Espressos, the new coffee menu works well. For others it can be an interesting twist or ‘Correto’ of their coffee mania.
