As the curtain goes up on IFFI 2015 tomorrow, many fringe activities are also being organised on the side lines of the Film Festival to provide a unique and lasting experience to the visitors here. One such initiative is IFFI Palate International Food Village that will be held, in Goa from 20th to 23rd November, 2015. The gourmet food village is being set up in the beautiful forest park right opposite the Maquinez Palace and INOX which is the throbbing heart of IFFI activity .

One such initiative is IFFI Palate International Food Village that will be held, in Goa from 20th to 23rd November, 2015. The gourmet food village is being set up in the beautiful forest park right opposite the Maquinez Palace and INOX which is the throbbing heart of IFFI activity .


Addressing a press conference in the IFFI Media Centre, Maquinez Palace here today, Shri Ameya Abhyankar, CEO, Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) said that the food festival will be a lasting and enduring engagement for people during the festival. He said that the cost of cuisines in this festival has been kept low to make it an ‘inclusive festival’. This food festival is a part of the overall eco system of IFFI festival and will provide wholesome entertainment to the families, he added. He also disclosed that the food festival is being sponsored by Air Asia. Shri Ameya Abhyankar also said that special attention will be given to cleanliness and hygiene at the venue.

Ms Aditi Kapoor and Ms Ruchi Sibal, Directors of the Palate Fest Pvt. Ltd and organisers of the IFFI Palate International Food Village also addressed the conference. Speaking on the occasion, Ms Aditi Kapoor said that India is now ready for such types of festivals. Ms Ruchi Sibal informed that many exciting events have been planned at the food festival like public art by Goan artists and music etc. She also said that this festival is a ‘Goan version of the Palate Festival ’.

The festival presents an equally enticing opportunity to Goan food lovers and IFFI delegates to sample gourmet food catered by the best Indian culinary brands. Film, art and food connoisseurs will be able to steep themselves into an extraordinary culinary experience at the IFFI Palate International Food Village.

Some of the country’s premier restaurants and eateries including the Olive Bar to Fat Lulus, Delhi Chutney Co, Chaayos, Big Fat Sandwich, Thalassa and more will be setting up pop-up restaurants at the IFFI Palate International Food Village. Other brands who have partnered with this unique initiative include Cup Noodles, Giani, Lite Bites, Cazulo Feni and Edward’s Yard among others.

Integrating fine cuisine with art, three outstanding artists Dhiraj Pednekar, Katharina Poggendorf – Kakar and Subodh Kerkar will be setting up interesting installations at the IFFI Palate International Food Village. The installations titled ‘BIOSCOPE’ by Dhiraj Pednekar, ‘INFINITE SHAKTI’ by Katharina Poggendorf–Kakar and CHICKEN CAFREAL by Subodh Kerkar will be on exhibit. An interesting line-up of entertainment has been planned for the festival, which includes live music acts through the evening.
