Are thrilled to understand how their favourite long and non-sticky noodles are created. This summer vacation, 25 children from Bangalore decided to learn something innovative and unique about their favourite noodle brand – YiPPee! ITC factory at Malur. Filled with intrigue, unmatched enthusiasm and a fascinating perspective towards life, the young brigade aged between 7 to 11 years travelled for an hour to ITC’s factory at Malur – which is spread across a massive seven acres – to understand the noodle making process. The objective of the visit was to demonstrate the care and love with which their favorite brand creates each and every pack of noodles.

The factory manager greeted the children upon their arrival, and briefed them about the safety and hygiene aspects of the plant. The kids relished a hot bowl of YiPPee! noodles while they watched an informative video about the instant noodles making process. The children were then taken around the factory to experience the making of their favourite YiPPee! noodles. The kids were enthralled looking at the gigantic machines that rolled dough sheets into blocks of round and long noodles. They were excited to witness what goes behind the making of YiPPee! noodles. The masala mix packaging machines were also on display for the kids.

YiPPee! uses real vegetables such as Carrot, Cabbage & Ring Bean which are dehydrated and added to the Masala mix of the Magic masala variant. Raw materials are sourced from from a limited and trusted set of vendor suppliers, who have quality systems which are in compliance with the requirements of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). Each consignment received is supported by a COA (Certificate of Analysis) and further tested on receipt through comprehensive testing for all contaminants. The same materials are also periodically checked at ITC Food’s laboratories at their Life Sciences and Technology Centre at Peenya in Bengaluru.

Talking about this activity, Mr. V.L.Rajesh, Divisional Chief Executive, ITC Foods said, “ITC has created many world class Indian brands in its history of over 100 years and endeavours to delight its consumers. YiPPee! noodles go through as many as 800 tests and checks everyday- right from raw material stage to in-process checks before they are dispatched to ensure all our products are safe, delicious and of the highest quality. Interacting with these children is a delightful way to communicate to them the quality standards we operate to while educating them at the same time.”
