Congress seeks action against MIM

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has accused MIM Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi of making hate speeches against Congress leaders and making provocative remarks which could lead to communal tensions.

TPCC official spokesperson G Niranjan has lodged a complaint with the Telangana State Election Commission V Nagi Reddy here on Sunday in this regard.

He submitted video clippings of his speeches to buttress his charges against MIM. He alleged that Akbaruddin Owaisi was making provocative speech against other communities at Hafeez Baba Nagar and other places deliberately to create communal tensions and sought his immediate arrest and disqualification of the MIM from contesting GHMC elections.

Niranjan alleged in his complaint that Akbaruddin’s speeches were intended to damage the image of national leaders like former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi, AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh.

Akbaruddin used most “filthy and unparliamentarily” language and made vicious comments against national leaders. “Akbaruddin used foul language to injure the sentiments of the other communities,” he said.
