KCR: We’ll be Part of Third Front, TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday said that his party would be part of the Third Front.

Karimnagar: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday said that his party would be part of the Third Front. He said that the Third Front leaders were holding discussions with him in this regard. KCR began his election campaigning by addressing a huge gathering at the Gourisetti Venkataiah Memorial Grounds at Sri Rajarajeswari Government Degree College here. On this occasion, he said all measures would be taken for the welfare of the families of Telangana martyrs. Telangana people themselves had asked him not to merge the TRS with the Congress, he said.

Rao urged the people to closely read the party manifesto. He assured the people that loans availed by women would be waived and houses would be constructed for the weaker sections. Targeting the Congress, he launched a tirade against TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah. He once again alleged that the Congress had ‘copied’ the TRS manifesto. He demanded the TPCC president why Congress did not mention the ‘20 districts in Telangana’ and ‘bigger houses for weaker sections’ points in its manifesto earlier. Alleging that the Congress leaders had swindled crores of rupees meant for various projects, he warned that his party would force Ponnala to cough up the money that he had amassed illegally when he was the Irrigation Minister.

He said TRS was a secular party and hence there was no question of joining hands with parties like BJP or joining the NDA. He termed the reports that the BJP would win at the Centre as baseless. He said TRS would provide 12 per cent reservation to Muslim minorities within six months of coming to power. He assured the people of fulfilling all promises made in the manifesto. Rao also had a dig at former minister Sridhar Babu. He alleged that Sridhar Babu had not only got his daughter Kavitha arrested at Manthani but also was responsible for shifting the statue of Komaram Bheem to the police station. The TRS chief urged the people to vote against Sridhar Babu at Manthani. Introducing the party’s Lok Sabha and Assembly candidates, Rao called upon the people to vote TRS to power.
